Licensing including Dog Control
We aim to ensure the safety and protection of the public from specified activities which are subject to licensing, registration and inspection.
We:
License dogs, register breeding establishments, deal with stray and unwanted dogs and investigate dog attack complaints.
Enforce Council Byelaws, for example, in conjunction with the Police on drinking in public places.
License entertainment premises and amusement arcades.
License petrol filling stations.
License street traders.
License caravan sites.
Carry out registration in respect of betting, gaming and lotteries.
Register businesses for acupuncture, ear-piercing, electrolysis & tattooists.
Enforce legislation relating to the sale of tobacco to children and young persons.
Provide a dog micro-chipping service.
