District Policing Partnership

Larne District Policing Partnership

What is Larne District Policing Partnership (DPP)?

Larne District Policing Partnership was formally established in March 2003 and is a partnership between Larne Borough Council and representatives from the wider community.  It is independent from the Police Service of Northern Ireland.

The DPP consists of eight elected councilors nominated by the Council and seven independent members all coming from diverse backgrounds.  They bring with them a wealth of experience, knowledge and visions for the future of policing in Northern Ireland.

How will Larne DPP benefit you?

Larne DPP provides all residents of the Borough with a unique opportunity to shape local policing.  The DPP will act as a mechanism through which the public can question Larne’s PSNI District Commander on the policing of the Borough and make recommendations for positive actions.

Meetings of Larne DPP

The District Policing Partnership holds a minimum of six public meetings a year.  Residents of the Borough are invited, through public advertising, to attend these meetings which are held at local venues throughout the entire Borough.

Public Opinion

The Residents of the Borough of Larne play a major role in the success of the District Policing Partnership.  The DPP carries out regular consultation asking for the views of the public on policing issues in their home town.  Both the DPP and PSNI will use this collated information to formulate Larne’s Local Policing Plan.

Information will be gathered in the following ways:
