History of Chaine Park

CHaine Park, where wealthy businessman James Chaine, his wife and sons are interred was officially opened on 16 July 1929 in memory of the man who had contributed so much to the development of Larne Harbour.

The layout for the two acres of park was designed by Scottish designer and landscape gardener, Maxwell Hart., under the supervision of town surveyor, Mr. J A Caskey.  The much needed shelter and conveniences in the park were erected by contractor, Allan McNeill, Larne.
