Larne Borough Sports Awards 2010
Larne Borough Sports Forum played host to the 5th Larne Borough Sports Awards on Thursday 24 February 2011 and were delighted to welcome Olympic Gold Medalist Stephen Martin MBE to McNeill Theatre as their guest speaker. The aim of the event was to recognise and reward the sporting achievements of the people of the Borough of Larne during 2010.
The evening began with a champagne drinks reception for all guests. LBSF were delighted to welcome Hall of Famers Trevor Ringland and Dave McAuley.
Guests were treated to a warm welcome from Awards Host, Ronan Kelly, Mayor Andrew Wilson and Sports Forum Chairman Councillor Martin Wilson. A question and answer session with Stephen Martin then followed with guests recieving insight into the life of an elite athlete and Stephen's continued role in sport as CEO of the Olympic Council of Ireland.
A 4 course meal proceeded the main event of the Presentation of the 9 Award Categories and a closing address of thanks to all involved from Mrs Geraldine McGahey, Chief Executive of Larne Borough Council.
