Environmental Education
A variety of educational events take place throughout the year including pond dipping, rock pooling, bug hunts, guided walks, habitat creation and art activities. (Please see event listing section). Regular tree planting programmes are also undertaken each winter with local schools or interested groups. Carnfunnock is also an excellent educational location for a school, youth group or a birthday party with a difference! We offer the following self guiding educational material, which is designed to require no park staff supervision, often with educational guidance notes for teachers or group leaders:

Recommendations for class work and exercises are based on the Key Stages and Attainment Levels of the British National Curriculum and offer ideas of things to do, both prior to the visit, and once the class has returned.
