Please note: even if you are planning on visiting the Park to carry out a self-led programme (i.e. Maths trail, orienteering or world of trees), we would ask that you inform us so we can advise of any ongoing works which may disrupt your visit.

Applicable Charges

The Maths Trail & World of Trees activities are free of charge, with the appropriate resource material downloadable from our website.  The map for the orienteering course can be downloaded free of charge from the NI Orienteering website, or a hard copy can be purchased from the Visitor Centre for a fee of £1.60 per map.

Please note: other charges such as parking and room hire may apply.

A charge of £2.00 per child applies to staff-led programmes which includes:

§   free parking;

§   free use of our Education Centre (4 hours);

§   use of appropriate equipment;

§   staff time.

Length of visit

Normally visits last 4 hours (i.e. 10.00am - 2.00pm), however times and length can be altered to suit your requirements.

Numbers & Supervision

To cover staff costs, we ask groups to have a minium number of 15 children with a maximum of 35.

If a group has chosen pond dipping or rock pooling, the group may be divided into smaller groups for health and safety reasons.

We ask that a minimum ratio of 1 supervising adult per 10 children accompany the group.

Please note: supervising adults remain responsible for the children in their party at all times.

We hope to continue adding new education programmes so please check back regularly, or if you would like to be kept informed of developments in our education programme please ask the Duty Officer to add you to our mailing list.
