Northern Ireland Survival School (N.I.S.S.)
The Northern Ireland Survival School (N.I.S.S.) has been given permission by Larne Borough Council for the exclusive use of Carnfunnock Country Park for certain bushcraft activities.
Bushcraft for those who are new to the phrase is a term used for the practice and application of a variety of country life skills. Some of which have their origins in the mists of time others have been passed down through family groups. It has become a pastime for many and an obsession for a few. People like Ray Mears, Les Stroud and Lars Felts, are just some who have carved successful careers traveling teaching and writing about the subject.
Northern Ireland Survival School is Northern Ireland's premier supplier of bushcraft, wilderness skill and survival training in the country. N.I.S.S. pride themselves in delivering high quality skills and staying a cut above the rest. N.I.S.S courses are based on a healthy respect for the environment we live in and they teach bushcraft skills which harness nature and work with it rather than against it.

Please note: Only authorised members of N.I.S.S. are permitted to undertake bushcraft activities within the Park. N.I.S.S. officers carry approved identification cards. No public camping (except in the official camp site) or open fires are permitted within the Park grounds.
