Site Inspections
Arranging Inspections
Once your application is lodged with the Council you are legally entitled to commence work on site.
For a Full Plans Submission we advise that you do not start work until your plans are approved. This helps to ensure that works do not require amendment on site, as it's easier and less costly to change a set of plans than to make alterations on site.
For Building Notice applications, which do not require a formal submission of plans, information may be requested to allow us to check the works. This should be provided before work starts for the reasons outlined above.
With the commencement of work on site, you or your builder will need to notify us to allow inspection at the following stages:
| Full Plans Submissions | Building Notice Submissions |
|
|
Please give at least one day notice for inspection requests so that we can efficiently organise and group calls.
As a minimum requirement we will accept calls until 10am on the day requested but our ability to meet this request obviously depends upon demand.
Following first inspection our Building Control Surveyors will advise you or your builder directly as to any additional key elements that may be notifiable for inspection.
