Selection process
Here are a range of selection processes we put in place to recruit successful candidates:
- Panel Short list – Following the closing date for application forms, a short listing panel will meet to review the job criteria and match this with the information you have supplied within your application form. If your application form demonstrates that you meet the criteria, then you will be invited to the next stage of the selection process
- Testing and Assessment – Following the panel short list, you may be invited to undergo a skills test or an assessment centre. The purpose of this process is to assess certain competencies which are required for the post. If you can demonstrate that you have the relevant competencies, then you will be invited to the next stage of the selection process
- Panel Interview – Following the panel short list or testing and assessment process, you may be invited to attend a structured interview for the post. This panel interview will usually involve three council officers
- Appointment Process – Following the panel interview if you are recommended for appointment, you may be asked to:
1. Provide us with two references
2. Undergo a medical assessment
3. Produce original copies of any qualifications which you rely on to support your application for the post
4. Provide an original copy of your birth certificate
